Aug 22, 2017

Oakside Community Park, located just east of Biglerville on Table Rock Road, is a free community park owned and operated by the Upper Adams Jaycees. The Upper Adams Jaycees host the annual National Apple Harvest Festival. The Park is home to several baseball fields, a playground area, a picnic area, and plenty of walking trails. The 2009 Expansion Project for the Park consisted of developing an adjacent 24-acre parcel into a soccer field complex. Providing an opportunity for Oakside Park to become a major site for local soccer activities, particularly the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). Soccer fields are sized based on the age group playing on them. Seven soccer fields were installed, including one “Under 15/19”, one “Under 12”, three “Under 10”, and two “Under 8”. One of the “Under 10” fields is convertible to six “Under 6”. Significant parking facility expansion was completed, along with an expansion of the walking trail network, including a small-scale replica reconstruction of the historic local Guernsey Bridge, and concrete pad for a concessions stand.
